A type treatment of Toronto Games Week

A celebration of playable arts & culture

Toronto Games Week (June 13-19, 2024) is a collective coordination of events organized independently by dozens of organizations, curators, companies, creators, and communities.

At Toronto Games Week this year, you might:

  • Frolic in a flickering forest pop-up arcade after dark!
  • Learn open source game tools at a workshop!
  • Play or cheer at a women & femme speedrunning event!
  • Clean up & back up your game cartridges at the Preservation Station!
  • Sip or stroll the East End Barcade Crawl!
  • Install your game on a Gameboy cartridge!

See the schedule!

Special guests

We're kicking off Toronto Games Week 2024 with XP Summit, a two day industry event that brings together international and local game development talent to learn from each other. And we’re excited to be bringing special guests to town:

  • Trey Smith, veteran creative director from Vancouver (Hardspace: Shipbreaker, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3)
  • Xalavier Nelson Jr., BAFTA nominated narrative designer from El Paso, Texas (Stranger Things VR, Hypnospace Outlaw)
  • Phil Salvador, library director from San Francisco (Video Game History Foundation)

Organize an event!

If you’d like to run a TGW event yourself, there’s still time to get in on the fun! We’re open to including board/escape room/theatrical/LARPing -- playful culture of all sorts, not just screen based games!
