Toronto Games Week is a celebration of playable arts and culture! Toronto Games Week 2024 will be on June 13-19 and is a collective coordination of events organized independently by dozens of organizations, creators, curators, and companies.
At Toronto Games Week this year, you might:
- Frolic in a flickering forest pop-up arcade after dark!
- Learn open source game tools at a workshop!
- Play or cheer at a women & femme speedrunning event!
- Unearth videogame preservation in the Mystery Dump!
- Sip or stroll the East End Barcade Crawl!
- Install your game on a Gameboy cartridge!
The week is being kicked off by the XP Summit, a two day industry event that brings together international and local game development talent to learn from each other.
We’re excited to be bringing a few special guests to town that will be appearing in XP and TGW events:
- Trey Smith, veteran creative director from Vancouver (Hardspace: Shipbreaker, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3)
- Xalavier Nelson Jr., BAFTA nominated narrative designer from El Paso, Texas (Stranger Things VR, Hypnospace Outlaw)
- Phil Salvador, library director from San Francisco (Video Game History Foundation)
If you’d like to run a TGW event yourself, there’s still time to get in on the fun! We’re open to including board/escape room/theatrical/LARPing -- playful culture of all sorts, not just screen based games!
Would you like to volunteer and help the coalition of community organizations and not-for-profits that make it happen? There’s lots of interesting things to do!
